Toby Boyle – Director and tutor of Guitar, Bass & Drums
Toby has been teaching music for over 30 years, both privately and in schools, and has taught thousands of pupils during that time. He teaches electric and acoustic guitar, bass guitar and beginner drums, working with students of all ages and abilities.
Toby was the resident guitar teacher at Holmwood House School and Rose Hill School in Tunbridge Wells for many years and also ran a large private teaching practice alongside his school work.
He was also a guitar coach for the staff at Fender Musical Instruments Europe HQ, supporting professional musicians within the industry.
Known for his friendly, down-to-earth approach, Toby makes students feel instantly comfortable. He believes learning music should be fun, inspiring and pressure-free, and tailors every lesson to the individual. With decades of experience, he brings out the best in each student – whether they’re picking up an instrument for the first time or looking to take their playing to the next level.

Working Musicians
All of our tutors at TBM Rock School are working professional musicians who perform regularly in venues, theatres and at private events.
This means students get to learn from people who are actively out there doing the job – not just teaching from a book. There are plenty of opportunities for students to come and see their tutors perform live, showing them what’s possible and proving that we really do walk the talk when it comes to music.
See Our Tutors Live
We love giving our students the chance to see their teachers perform in real-life settings. It’s hugely inspiring for them to watch their tutors on stage, doing exactly what they teach.
Toby Boyle – Live Guitar and Singing
Toby performs regularly with professional bands at private events, festivals and venues across the UK. Students often enjoy coming along to gigs to see him in action, bringing the same energy and passion he brings to lessons.
Seeing your teacher perform live helps students understand stagecraft, confidence and musicianship in a real-world setting.
Anouska Assisi – Live Singer-Songwriter
Anouska is an active performing artist, regularly playing live shows in venues and at events. She performs her own original music as well as covers, often using live looping to create full-band style arrangements with just her voice and guitar.
Students love seeing Anouska perform, especially those interested in singing and songwriting. It shows them what’s possible and gives them real inspiration for their own musical journey.
We’ll regularly share upcoming shows so families and students can come along and support their tutors live on stage.
